Can you eat cake for breakfast? Lunch? Supper or dinner? The answer is duh, yes. Anyone can eat cake at any time. It’s a matter of good that particular cake is to warrant skipping an actual meal in lieu of the opportunity to taste heaven (or hell). The same with donuts, pie and other pastries. Rarely would you take the time to find something like this unless you’re already planning for dinner and order a dessert as an afterthought. Then when you do, you realize that you’ve made a terrible mistake eating the breakfast/lunch/dinner portion before you had a chance to taste such decadence on your lips. I felt this when I visited a tiny deli and bakery in Wisconsin. They sell heaven for anywhere between $1.50 to $15.00; if I were asked whether I would like to come back to that little place, they wouldn’t have time to finish their sentence before I’ve already started packing.
